For the last 15 years, National Public Radio has featured a program called Tiny Desk Concerts. And it’s just as it’s name implies. Artists and bands perform while crammed around the desk of the host of their afternoon talk show All Things Considered.
While the guests are usually up and coming indie bands, occasionally they have established acts like Indigo Girls, Tori Amos, Ed Sheeran and Miley Cyrus. All VERY NPR.
However, this week they took a WIDE left turn and featured the grotesquely-costumed heavy metal band GWAR…and it’s FANTASTIC! I call it NP-GWAR.
