Thieves in Sacramento, California used a stolen forklift to withdraw an ATM from a SAFE Credit Union – might want to re-name the C/U after this incident.
The brazen burglars are seen pulling up to the credit union at 6:15am with the getaway truck and then a stolen forklift (telehandler if you want to be very specific about the piece of construction equipment used in the robbery) comes onto the scene – knocking the ATM off its base.
The driver of the getaway truck then backs up to the toppled ATM and the forklift deposits it into the truck’s bed.
The driver seems to have prior operational knowledge of the forklift (if only he could apply those skills to an actual job) plus + add on extra points for wearing a safety vest – because its essential to the success of the robbery to maintain a safe work environment.
The hilarious part of the video comes from whomever was in the random car that showed up to (properly) use the ATM – witnessed the scene unfolding and just drove away.
I guess the old slogan is true – TYME is Money – regardless if its yours or not.
Sacramento police are still looking for information as to the identity of the thieves.
