We’ve seen this before. a couple buys a new house and discovers something not disclosed by the seller. Maybe hardwood floors under carpet, maybe a pool under the backyard, literal skeletons in the closet or otherwise or, in this case, hundreds of liquor bottles hidden in the walls.
AHOY Captain!
A couple in New Jersey recently bought a house. When they had to replace some drywall in the basement due to some unfortunate flooding they opened the wall up and dozens of empty Captain Morgan spiced rum bottles started falling out.
They posted a video (below) on Instagram and said this about their found treasure:
Purchased a home and immediately had a huge flood. Massive rain storm and more water than the ground could hold. This is what we found in the walls of the finished basement when removing ruined sheetrock. I have added a photo of the spot where the bottles were dropped in the wall for those asking.
Strangely enough, the previous owner saw the video and followed up with them by saying there are hundreds MORE hidden in the walls, but relayed that he’s three years sober now. That’s a great thing.
Many commenters on the video also reached out to share their stories of living with alcoholism and their road to sobriety saying that this unique find is more common that you’d think it was.
So after a period of hard rain we learn that eventually sunshine will follow.
