You’ve probably heard of multiple countries dealing with torrential rains, flooding cities and towns all over the globe – well – there’s one recent flood that cannot be blamed on global warming or any climatic disturbance.
The town of Levira is near the coast, about 150 miles north of Lisbon, Portugal. There’s a big distillery there. And on Sunday, two holding tanks full of wine broke open, and spilled around 600,000 GALLONS of red wine into the streets.
The distillery is still looking into what causes the torrent of vino This To their credit, the distillery took full responsibility and said they’ll cover the clean-up costs to the town. Luckily, no one was hurt in this natural/organic disaster but at least one person’s basement flooded… which doesn’t seem all that bad considering the source.
The streets of Levira, Portugal were flooded with red wine after a distillery’s 2.2 million liter tanks burst.
