We are proud to name as this week’s Rick and Cutter Show Weenie of the Week…the dude who stole Donald Driver’s replica Lombardi Trophy from the Bar on Holmgren Way during a taping of the TV/radio show Inside the Huddle. The trophy was loaned to the show by Donald Driver, its long-time host, for fans to see and take pictures with it.
After The Bar posted surveillance photos on-line of the culprit, who’s wearing a Detroit Lions zip-up, they went around social media faster than a joint on Willie Nelson’s tour bus.
After the photos went viral, FOX 11 received a phone call from an anonymous person claiming that taking the trophy, which is reportedly worth thousands of dollars, was just a joke and he would be mailing it back to The Bar. I guess we’ll see.
So,
For actions that could take him from Inside the Huddle to Inside the Hoosegow.
For going home with a Lombardi Trophy after one trip to The Bar on Holmgren, something the Vikings never did even after four trips to the Super Bowl.
For realizing that, as an apparent Lions fan, stealing a Lombardi Trophy is as close as his team will ever get to having one.
And for getting a Lombardi trophy that he in no way earned and doesn’t deserve, you know, like the Bears did in ’85.
We are proud to name the as yet unidentified trophy-taking, light-fingered Lombardi lifter who stole Donald Driver’s replica Super Bowl trophy from the Bar on Holmgren as this week’s Rick and Cutter Show…WEENIE OF THE WEEK.
UPDATE: The trophy has reportedly since been returned to The Bar on Holmgren…dented and scratched!
