In 1958, a young lady named Brenda Lee recorded a new song called Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree. The song went largely unnoticed for a couple of years until it hit the Billboard charts during the Christmas season of 1960 reaching number 14. During the next 60-some Christmas seasons, the song, as recorded by Miss Lee, returned to the Billboard charts another 12 times. However, it wasn’t until this year that it actually reached #1.
That is perhaps the reason that the mad genius of mashups, Bill McClintock, turned his attention to this song this year and miraculously found a way to mix it up with AC/DC’s Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap. Seriously. Do you think I could make that up? Please!
