The week between Christmas and New Year may be time for family and relaxing, but if you’re a music fan in Northeast Wisconsin this year it was for heavy metal! Long-time Ozzy, Black Label Society, and Pantera guitarist Zakk Wylde brought his Black Sabbath tribute band Zakk Sabbath to the Epic Event Center in Green Bay on Dec. 29th and it was in-f***-ing credible!!!
“I just laugh because I’m 56 years old, and I’m up there playing ‘Snowblind’ and ‘Into The Void’ like I did at backyard keg parties with high school friends,” Zakk told News-Herald, (per Blabbermouth.net.) “It’s pretty awesome. Every time we do one of these runs, I always say these songs are so incredible. As soon as I hear the intro tape that starts the show, I feel like I’m 15 years old again. It’s just the power of music — it transports you right back to where you were when you first started listening to this stuff.”
Zakk Sabbath features Zakk Wylde on guitar/vocals, John “JD” DeServio on bass and Joey Castillo on drums.
Thanks to a local metal fan you can relive the performances or see them for the first time. Now before you watch these I’ll say this, I do not condone recording the entire performances of these bands, put the phone down and be in the moment, but thanks PaleRider for getting some decent quality stuff and allowing us to see Zakk tearing up the Epic Event Center in the only way one of the great guitarists of our time can do.
