FOND DU LAC, Wis. — Criminal charges are filed in connection with a fatal crash in Fond du Lac County.
Jatziel Encarnacion faces one count of Hit and Run Causing Great Bodily Harm.
According to the criminal complaint, Encarnacion hit two people who had been thrown from a vehicle that rolled along Highway 45 on New Year’s Eve. The body of Taya Grimes was dragged for 3 miles under Encarnacion’s truck.
Investigators believe his vehicle also struck another girl lying in the road. That is what led to the single charge that has been filed.
Encarnacion faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
