A wild boar tried to hog the slopes at a ski hill in Japan – stealing some boards in the process.
The incident was captured (from a good, safe distance) by a ski & snowboard shop called Joey’s in Akakura Myoko.
The wild hog surprises a snowboarder basically tackling him then decides to spread the love by clipping another snowboarder – who, luckily, had his snow deck unclipped and was able to fend off the feral pig before running off into the woods. The boar not the snowboarder – though you wouldn’t blame the boarder for seeking safety as wild boars are native to the main island of Honshu and are known to occasionally attack and sometimes even kill people.
According to a commentor on the video – a Japanese boar can grow to about 180-200 pounds and boar hunting for sport, as well as food, is widespread in rural Japan.
