Normally if you wanted to traumatize your child and the rest of his/her birthday party the move is to simply hire a clown. But sometimes a seemingly innocent trip to the zoo will also do the trick.
A group of ducklings met a grizzly end when a bear named Juniper went looking for a mid-day snack, shocking both adults and children who witnessed the carnage during a little girl’s birthday party trip to Seattle’s Woodland Park Zoo.
All was good until the peckish bear decided that it was duck season and then the previous light and playful nature of the party took a drastic turn toward the graphic and horrific as Juniper devoured the ducklings that had landed in her enclosure – further proving my point that ducks are the worst animal parents.
The mother of the birthday girl “thanked” the bear for a memorable party by posting, “A #natgeo trainwreck for my daughters’ birthday, thanks JUNIPER.”
And, sure, there’s a teachable-moment here about the circle of life but just in case you may want to cover your bases and make sure the post-party gift bags include coupons for grief counseling.
