Each year, Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce and Johnson Financial Group team-up to determine the Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin.
The competition aims to highlight Wisconsin’s vibrant and diverse manufacturing industry.
You can find, among the nominees this year, Wisco-centric things like candy, cheese products, snacks, foods and sodas. But the nominee list also includes items like power and manufacturing equipment, a robotic mower, military equipment and outdoor recreational items.
A Total of 105 cool, Wisconsin-made things are on the initial list – to be voted down to a 32 item bracket by the end of the first round.
Past Coolest Thing contest winners include a Harley-Davidson motorcycle engine, a light tactical vehicle made by Oshkosh Corp. and an electric fire engine from Pierce Manufacturing. Last year’s Coolest Thing was a bottle-less smart water dispenser made by Plexus Corp. in Appleton.
Check out the great article from Green Bay Press-Gazette’s Christopher Clough for more on the contest HERE – including a spotlight on the ‘Ukraine Candles’ made in Sturgeon Bay.
The first round of “Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin” is going on now and continues through Tuesday, Sept. 24.
