We are proud to name as this week’s Weenie of the Week, former Milwaukee Brewer Jesse Winker who broke the hearts of Brewers everywhere during this year’s National League Wild Card postseason round. You see Jesse only played one season with the Brewers, and if you don’t remember that, neither do we. This year he started with the Washington Nationals before being traded to the New York Mets in July, but don’t tell Mets fans that, he’s acting like he’s been there the whole time.
The hatred toward the New York Mets outfielder and designated hitter truly began during game one of the NL Wild Card where he seemed to exchange words with Willie Adamas, to the point where Willy told Jesse to meet him in the parking lot after the game. Willy waited but Jesse didn’t show, and while it sounds like I made that part up that is 100% factual. Then in game 3 as the Mets are about to break Brewers fan’s hearts again Jesse Winker comes to the plate. At this point, the mets are up 3-2 and Mr. Winker being a designated hitter gets hit by a Devon Williams pitch, but it did seem like he took that on purpose to get on base. I mean game knows game but come on man, Then he steals 2nd base, and on a single from the next batter, he makes it home to put the score at 4-2. Then slams his helmet down in excitement. All of that makes you wish he would have met Willy in the parking after game one, but alas The Mets may have gotten the final laugh and knocked the Brewers out of the playoffs, but we all know Jesse Winker will just be on a different team next year and he’ll be forgotten like so many DH’s of the past.
So for picking a fight with Willy Adamas and no showing like a 5th-grade bully who shuts up once you stick up for yourself, for purposely getting hit by a pitch like that con artist during the commercials who says “Watch out for mayhem like me” and stabbing Brewers fans in the heart as a member of the Mets even though he barely showed up for work when he was a member of the Brewers. We are proud to name the jerky jerkface weiner Jesse Winker (come on his name even lends itself to this, Jesse Winker as this week’s Weenie of the Week.
