The Fan Vote didn’t seem to matter much this year as the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has announced its 2025 inductees. Bad Company, Soundgarden, and The White Stripes lead this year’s list, while classics like Chubby Checker and Joe Cocker finally get their music enshrined in the Rock Hall. Even Warren Zevon gets in this year, but in a different category. While Phish led the fan vote, they didn’t get in. The Black Crowes and Billy Idol didn’t either. Here’s how it all breaks down.
The Performer Category is artists who have created music that has changed the course of rock and roll.
- Bad Company
- Chubby Checker
- Joe Cocker
- Cyndi Lauper

Then there’s the musical influence award, who are artists whose music and performance style have directly influenced, inspired, and evolved rock & roll, impacting the culture.
- Salt-N-Pepa
- Warren Zevon
There is also the musical excellence award, which is given to artists, musicians, songwriters, and producers whose originality and influence on creating music have had a dramatic impact on music
- Thom Bell (producer)

The music industry has had a slew of influential people, and every year the Hall gives out the Ahmet Ertegun Award for industry professionals who have had a major influence on the creative development and growth of rock and roll and music that has impacted culture.
- Lenny Waronker – Former president of Warner Bros. Records
