South Beach Tow, Lizard Lick Towing, Hustle & Tow, Operation Repo, and Sin City Tow... if you’re not aware (and be thankful if you aren’t) all these are reality-based, T.V. tow shows – where you see the up’s and down’s, criminals, scofflaws and the good, hard-working people behind the tow truck wheel who have to deal with their special brand of insanity on a day-to-day basis.
But when it comes to actual reality, nothing manufactured on reality television can match the actions of the non-skilled people who attempt to tow vehicles IRL.
Video below from Houston, TX shows a white SUV attempting (poorly) trying to tow a car down a multi-lane highway.
Ken Collins, a witness, told KHOU 11 News, “It was like err err, like losing control, I heard when his tire blew out, just lots of swerving,”
According to the report, they hooked the tow line to the disabled Saab to the back of the car and towed it backwards, which is not how it’s done. The Saab then started swinging wildly, back and forth across the 610 Loop lanes. Even crazier, the Saab owner was actually in the driver’s seat during the ordeal – holding on for dear life.
I know what you’re probably thinking, Why wouldn’t you at least hook it up so that he could stear the vehicle being towed in a forward direction?
No one knows.
And even more shocking, according to HPD, neither driver was given a citation for how they towed the car.
REALLY?!?!
However, the man in the blue Saab was arrested for an unrelated out-of-state warrant.
