WAPL started playing tracks from Don’t Say No – the latest album from Billy Squier – this week in 1981, including “The Stroke”.

This week in 1980, WAPL started playing cuts from the Ted Nugent album Scream Dream including “Wango Tango”.

David Bowie and his side project Tin Machine got its first taste of northeast Wisconsin radio when WAPL played, “Under the God” from their self-titled debut this week in 1989.

LOST CLASSIC:  A great song from John Stewart with help from Stevie Nicks debuted on WAPL with “Gold”.
