Green Bay Packers fans are part of a world-wide family – case in point – the men and women from Tokyo, Japan as documented in the new film “No Packers, No Life”.
The documentary, seven years in the making, features the Japanese Packers Cheering Team, a dedicated group of Packers fans in Japan, and Ty Morse, an American who launched the project after coming across the fan group during a business trip to Tokyo. A Wisconsin native, Morse was so taken with their story, he arranged for two dozen of their group to attend a Packers home game in September 2017 and twice more over the years. – (Richard Ryman – Green Bay Press-Gazette)
Here’s the official synopsis from Cannonball Productions:
This heartwarming documentary follows a passionate group of superfans—not in Wisconsin, but in the heart of Tokyo—who live, breathe, and bleed green and gold. From 4AM kickoff parties to Lambeau pilgrimages, meet Cheppo, Suh, Ayaka, Ryuta, and the rest of Japan’s most dedicated Cheeseheads as they chase the dream across time zones and oceans. Heartfelt, hilarious, and wildly unexpected, “No Packers No Life” is a celebration of fandom, friendship, and the unshakable belief that you don’t have to be born in Green Bay to call it home.
