…And The Winner Is….
A 1,200-pound bear nicknamed “Chunk” has been crowned the winner of Fat Bear Week 2025.
“Chunk,” otherwise known as Bear 32, received over 96,000 votes from people who watched the livestream of him feasting on salmon from the Brooks River in Alaska’s Katmai National Park.
The contest, hosted by the National Park Service, celebrates survival and success as these brown bears pack on the pounds before winter hibernation.
Twenty bears from the Brooks River spent the summer feasting on salmon, and fans from around the world tuned in to vote for their favorite heavyweight.
Congratulations to “Chunk!” and Happy Hibernation Champ!
Meet your FAT BEAR WEEK 2025 champion.
