A Jurassic mystery has been solved.
Last week in L.A.’s Brentwood neighborhood, a 50-pound fiberglass dinosaur named ‘Claire’ was stolen from a gas station.
To put a local tie to this, it’s very similar to the dino that stands at the gas station on the corner of Ashland and Lombardi in Green Bay – just on a smaller scale.
Going back to Cali (L.L. Cool-J) – security video showed the person using power tools to remove Claire, loading her into the bed of a pickup truck and driving away. The dinosaur which is a Jurassic throwback to Sinclair’s (hence the name ‘Claire’) 1930 advertising campaign outside their gas stations nationwide.
The 4-foot tall ‘Claire’ was just returned early Monday morning with an apology note attached.
In security video recorded Monday morning when the station was closed, is what appears to be the same white pickup pulling up to the station before someone unloads the wrapped dinosaur.
A clerk at the station told NBC Los Angeles she arrived at work early Monday to see Claire had been returned.
The attached note read, “I’m sorry for stealing. Please don’t charge me!”
Actor Jamie Lee Curtis seemed to take a personal interest in the case as seen in her various Instagram posts below.
