Rock and Roll and video games go hand in hand. From the old days of the Madden soundtracks to Jack Black’s ode to heavy metal, Brutal Legend. Hard and heavy music and the sports for nerds as always been a thing, and now that we’re adults, instead of playing the games, we develop them.
Longtime Nine Inch Nails guitarist Robin Finck, (who also spent time in Guns N’ Roses) has teamed up with Cory Davis to create the first-person psychological horror game Sleep Awake.
“Katja must navigate depraved death cults, otherworldly forces, and the ever-present horror of The HUSH, to save herself and those who rely upon her,” explains the game’s description.”
The music in the game is written and recorded by Robin Finck. The game is out now on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
Then there’s the modern heavy metal heavyweights Slipknot. Founder Shawn Crahan, otherwise known as Clown, has designed a new Minecraft realm called Vernearth. It features four modes of play — Oblivion, PVP/Event, Plotworld, and Challenge Mode. Challenge Mode will likely be of the most interest to Slipknot fans, as each 45-day season will come with a new theme inspired by the band’s catalog.
