‘Beer Keg Christmas Tree’ Taps Into The Holiday Spirit [VIDEO]

Move over ‘Easter Keg’ the Kegmas Tree is here!

A Rochester, New York, brewery has officially taken the top spot in the country after its “Keg Tree” was voted the number one Christmas tree in America.

The Genesee Brewery built the massive 27-foot-tall structure using 650 empty beer kegs and wrapped it in more than 25,000 twinkling lights.

The recognition comes just days before the Keg Tree’s 2025 lighting ceremony, which will take place on Friday evening outside the Genesee Brew House, the oldest brewery in New York state.

Newsweek wrote in its roundup, “The Keg Tree celebration unites the community with live music, local food and seasonal beer releases, all while supporting local charities. More than a photo op, it’s a symbol of resilience and pride for a city that knows how to work hard and celebrate together”

And it’s not like they beat out just any run-of-the-mill ordinary Christmas trees either the Keg Tree beat out such favorites as Rockefeller Center in New York City and the National Christmas Tree in Washington, D.C., for the top spot.
