If you walk out on Blackhawk Lake in Cobb, Wisconsin and see a porta potty you may want to resist your first inclination because all is not what it seems, and could make for an awkward situation.
The ‘crappy shack’ is in fact a ‘crappie shack’ as in ice shanty.
49 year old Jeremy Barnett, a construction worker is turning heads on the lake with his port-a-potty turned shanty so-much-so that people are stopping by just to take selfies of it.
Barnett said, “They love it, they love it. They laugh and they think it’s really cool. Everybody wants to see it, ya know?”
This isn’t just some run-of-the-mill porta shanty either, Barnett went all out putting it together.
It’s got a heater, TV, music it even has LED lights near the roof so he can fish at night.
“I got a speaker for music, I got a TV if I want it. It’s just a lot of fun,” Barnett said. “I just like sitting in here and jigging for fish. I could do it all day,”
Not one to rest on his laurels, Barnett says a bigger, better Crappie Shack 2.0 is coming next winter.
He said he’s secured a bigger “handicapped” porta potty that is no longer in use.
He plans to work on outfitting that this summer and debuting the new and improved Crappie Shack next winter.
