The annual World Champion Squirrel Cook-off returned to Springdale, Arkansas, over the weekend, drawing thousands of wild-game enthusiasts and competitive cooks to the Ozarks.
Twenty-eight cooking teams representing 15 states competed in the main event.
Visitors also participated in unique challenges ranging from the world’s hottest squirrel-eating contest to a live squirrel skinning competition.
And even more ‘squirrel enthusiasts’ enjoyed custom squirrel-flavored ice cream for dessert.
Not down with the culinary intricacies of squirrels? Fear not. For non-squirrel-eaters, there was a national championship arm-wrestling event and free fishing rods.
