We are proud to name as this week’s Laura Lee & Cutter Weenie of the week an unknown Eau Claire man who didn’t marry an axe murderer but used an axe that wasn’t his to show his dedication to his significant other
We appreciate a good love story, who doesn’t. We have an ongoing joke that no matter what story you hear it’s always a rom com. And of course, this love story would happen in Eau Claire. Police got a call from a resident to report that their axe had gone missing from their friend’s porch. We don’t know why there was an axe on this person’s front porch and that’s not important to the story. On their ring cam they saw this guy just come up and take it. Later police found a man who matched his description pulling a wagon, but no axe. Turns out this guy stole the axe from the front porch so he could carve his significant other’s initials into a tree, you know like a middle schooler. Ap + Am forever! I feel like a knife could have gotten that job done, but when you want to express your love, you go all out! The problem here is that he took the axe, did the carving, and then ditched the axe. You could have just returned it buddy, then you’re just being Wisconsin nice, and we wouldn’t be coming up with the next three reasons as to why you’re being highlighted here.
So for indirectly creating the Wisconsin edition of the Hallmark love story movie not named a door county Christmas
So for anyone wondering how far someone will go for love, apparently the answer is felony-adjacent axe theft
And so for hoping for his next romantic gesture, he’ll just use a sharpie.
We are happy to name this in love Eau Claire Ignoramus as this week’s Laura Lee and Cutter Weenie of the Week.
