One would naturally think that alligators are primarily meat eaters… well apparently they also go for some carbs to balance out the protein as witnessed in Southport, North Carolina recently.
A bagel shop in Southport got an unexpected visitor when CCTV video captured a 3-foot alligator wandering in through an open back door and strolled through the kitchen before ending up at the front counter.
The gator almost looked like it knew exactly where it was going – like it was reporting for a shift at the shop.
Jesse Driscoll, the owner of Bagel Dock Express, says he was stunned when he spotted the reptile and quickly called 911.
The shop was closed at the time, and police and animal services safely removed the gator.
Luckily no one was hurt. Driscoll later joked, “Apparently, word of our fresh bagels has made its way into the swamp.”
