Typically when a food truck gives you explosive gas, it means something else entirely.
Buck Buck Food Truck, which sells fried chicken and other southern specialties in Eugene, Oregon exploded, destroying the truck and causing damage to three nearby buildings.
Owner Mikey Lawrence said he woke up to a number of calls and texts informing him that the food cart had exploded. An initial assessment by firefighters indicated gas lines leading to the food truck’s propane tank malfunctioned, causing the blast and completely destroying the food cart.
“I live close by so I rode over, waited for the train to pass and then saw it,” Lawrence said at the scene. “And I said, ‘Holy moly.’ Well, it wasn’t as nice as ‘Holy moly,’ but it was quite a shock.”
The shock wave from the blast spiked the air pressure in the brew lines a next door bar, causing all of the taps to open and spill beer until owner Jeff Althouse arrived to close them and begin cleaning up. Employees were at the brewery helping to clean broken glassware, fallen art and other various debris jolted by the explosion. Althouse said fortunately there appears to be no immediate indication of structural damage to the building.
The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the blast.
