German emergency services have to deal with a lot of weird complaints during the summer. Many people call to report neighbors having loud sex or injured animals crying out for help. But it’s neither of those things.
Turns out, it’s an odd combination of the two:
“The suspicious noises were soon pinned on a hedgehog couple in the midst of a mating ritual,” a superintendent wrote in his report, entitled “Prickly intruders”, adding that the hedgehogs were not disturbed.
According to a hedgehog expert at the veterinary faculty of the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, “hedgehogs snarl loudly during the hours-long mating ritual and the males make the most noise”.
So THAT’S why they really delayed that Sonic The Hedgehog movie!
