About 150 soldiers from the Wisconsin National Guard are finishing the cleanup after severe storms.
They’ve been working mostly in the western part of the state. Governor Evers visited them to thank them for their service.
The soldiers cleared about 50 miles of roads and nearly 13,000 tons of trees and debris. They also received a National Guard emergency service ribbon.
Governor Evers is also scheduled to talk with majority Republicans about gun laws later this week. He says he’s optimistic and hopes they can do something about the issue.
