Governor Evers is pushing to reduce pollution from chemicals in firefighting foam, fast-food wrappers and non-stick cookware.
He’s issuing an executive order on what are known as PFAS. The governor is calling on state environmental and agriculture officials to create regulatory standards for them, and work with wastewater treatment plants to identify sources of PFAS.
The Evers administration is already having the DNR put a new enforcement standard in place of 20 parts per trillion. The federal standard is 70 parts per trillion.
