A Menasha man is in custody, after police say he got into a fight with his father over cooking cabbage late at night.
Officer Nick Oleszak says the two live together in a house on Abby Avenue, on the west end of Doty Island. He says the 31-year-old son started beating up his 55-year-old father, and then threatened to kill the father with a knife.
Oleszak says neighbors saw the son leave the house with a meat cleaver and rope.
Police believe the son came back overnight, and fired gunshots at the home. Several people heard the shots, and there were bullet holes in the garage and a car.
Oleszak says police arrested the 31-year-old man in a nearby community, and they found the gun that might’ve been used.
