The chorus of lawmakers calling for Outagamie County to continue paying for emergency sirens is growing.
Appleton Alderman Chris Croatt wants the Common Council to approve a resolution from the City of Kaukauna to have the county earmark money from the new half-cent sales tax to fund the sirens. He says it’s an important warning system and it should work in every community in the county no matter what.
Outagamie County is turning over ownership and control of the sirens to local municipalities next year. Croatt will introduce the Kaukauna sales tax resolution at the next Appleton Common Council meeting.
