Things are back to normal at a Green Bay fire station, one year after a flash flood caused more than $1 million in damage.
Water filled the basement and damaged the first floor at Station No. 5 on Finger Road, on the city’s east side.
Assistant Chief Rob Goplin says their electrical and fiber optic systems were destroyed. He says the water got in through an air intake duct outside the station.
Since then, crews built a concrete barrier around it. Insurance covered all but $100,000 of the $1.1 million cost of the renovations.
