A change in a large food drive is raising concerns at a local pantry.
The St. Joseph Food Program in Menasha is one of many groups that benefit from Scouting for Food. The Boy Scouts are moving the drive from October to April.
Spokeswoman Karen Ziemke says that’s helped them get through the winter months, until the postal service holds its letter carrier’s drive in May.
Ziemke says they do see more support during the fall and the holidays, because more groups hold food drives. But she says they don’t have anything right now to make up for Scouting for Food.
A spokeswoman for the Bay-Lakes Council says they moved the drive because parents think it’s too busy in the fall.
