Governor Evers says he’ll push Majority Republicans in the Legislature to pass changes to gun laws, and legalize medical marijuana, this fall.
The governor and Democrats introduced bills requiring universal background checks, and creating a “red flag” law. Evers says polls show there’s broad public support for both, so it would be “political suicide” for Republicans to reject them.
He hopes to work with GOP lawmakers in the Assembly to pass the medical marijuana bill.
