Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh is getting a federal grant to replace the main taxiway.
Airport Director Jim Schell says the $7.5 million will cover nearly all of the costs. He’s asking the state and Winnebago County to each pitch in $500,000.
Schell wants to start construction on the 1-1/2 mile stretch of concrete in April of next year. He says they’ll need to take a break in June for EAA AirVenture. He hopes to finish by the end of next year, or early in 2021.
Schell says the taxiway runs parallel to the main runway.
