Outagamie County Sheriff’s deputies started a new assignment about one month ago handling all police duties in Freedom.
Capt. Jeff Dietzen says he’s hearing positive comments from people.
The Town Board voted in July to eliminate the town’s police department, and work out a contract with the sheriff’s department.
There are two full-time officers, and one of those deputies is a part-time school resource officer.
Dietzen thinks having someone in the schools is a positive thing.
