There are plans to move forward with trestle trail projects in the Appleton flats.
Mayor Tim Hanna put money in his proposed 2020 budget to convert the first of three bridges. That trestle goes over the Fox River by Lawe Street, and it would cost about $1.1 million.
The next project on the list is the Edison Trestle, between Trolley Square and the Atlas Mill.
The proposal calls for spending $3 million for the Edison Trestle project in 2021.
The third trestle the city now owns is by the RiverHeath development, and it’s not included in the five-year plan.
The city hopes to get DNR grants to help pay for the projects.
