Some sort of Tom Petty tribute project is in the works… we’re just not sure what it is.
In a video posted to the late Tom Petty’s Instagram account we see the legendary Willie Nelson, singer-songwriter Amos Lee, and four legacy musicians in Willie’s sons Lukas Nelson and Micah Nelson, Bob Dylan’s son and Wallflowers frontman Jakob Dylan, and the late George Harrison’s son Dhani Harrison.
The video begins with the caption, “For Real… For Tom.” Someone says, “What is it? It’s a song Tom Petty wrote.” We see snippets of the musicians in the studio, followed by the caption, “Stay tuned.”
No other information is provided, but it’s possible that the six musicians are working on a recording of the song, “For Real,” written by Tom and released as a single from his posthumous “The Best of Everything” greatest hits album.
