The fines for not paying parking tickets on time in Appleton might go up.
Public Works Director Paula Vandehey says the DOT is now charging $5 for every address they request, while they’re trying to track down overdue fines.
She’s asking to add another $10 to those fines, to increase late payments from an extra $15 to an additional $25.
Vandehey stresses the initial fines for parking tickets would stay the same, as long as people pay them by the deadline.
The city council could vote on the proposal next month.
