A former worker for two Seymour-area brothers thinks the man charged with killing them lured the brothers to a farm in Missouri.
Prosecutors are filing formal murder charges against Garland “Joey” Nelson, about three months after Nick and Justin Diemel disappeared. The brothers owned Diemel’s Livestock, and they went to Nelson’s farm in Braymer, northeast of Kansas City, on business.
Rob Chubb managed the feeder cattle side of Diemel’s Livestock, and he says Nelson owed the brothers money. He thinks Nelson promised to pay them to get them to come to the farm. so Nelson could kill them.
Prosecutors believe Nelson owed the Diemels $250,000.
Chubb says he’s angry, and he knew from the day the brothers went missing that Nelson was involved.
Prosecutors accuse Nelson of burning the bodies, and putting them in a manure pit. They could choose to seek the death penalty.
