A congressman from eastern Wisconsin wasn’t among the Republicans that stormed an impeachment inquiry hearing at the Capitol this week.
Congressman Glenn Grothman of Glenbulah is a member of the House Oversight Committee, so he’s been going to some of the closed-door sessions. But he doesn’t think the process is fair to all of the lawmakers that would have to vote on impeachment.
Grothman believes the sessions should be public, so members of Congress can see the witnesses, and judge how a witnesses says something, and how they look.
House Republicans put the rules in place for the closed-door sessions several years ago.
Grothman also tells Josh Dukelow on Fresh Take that he expects the impeachment inquiry will last until almost Christmas. He thinks any formal House proceedings would start in the new year.
