A long-running business on Appleton’s south side will be closing.
The owners of Fox Valley Nursery on S. Oneida Street are retiring.
Co-owner Joe Sturm says it’s been a good run, and they decided to sell the property. He says his parents, Oscar and Beatrice Sturm opened the nursery nearly 65 years ago, in 1955. He bought it, along with his sister Karen Shackleton, and their spouses.
Sturm says they’re thankful to all of their customers for supporting them over the years. The final day will be November 22nd.
The nursery also founded the Marigold Mile along S. Oneida Street. Strum says they’ve worked something out, so the flowers will continue to be planted in the future.
