The Green Bay Public School District Board will move ahead with consolidating Jefferson and Fort Howard elementary schools.
Last night’s vote was 4-3.
Students would attend Fort Howard Elementary.
Board Vice President Andrew Becker proposed several amendments that include making sure busing is available for kids to get to Fort Howard and ensuring staff at Jefferson would have the same hours and pay with the consolidation.
The changes start with the next school year.
The district would like to use about $2.9 million in federal funding to convert Jefferson Elementary School into a Head Start facility for the west side of the city.
