Milwaukee police say they arrested a man for throwing acid at a Hispanic man outside of a restaurant.
The victim had second-degree burns to his face, after police say the white man confronted him and told the victim he didn’t belong in the country.
Mayor Tom Barrett is calling it a “horrific hate crime.” He says he looks at it in the context of the current political climate, with President Trump seeming “to try to create more division” among people.
The victim was treated at a hospital and released.
