A new grant is targeting people dealing with issues from head injuries.
SOAR Fox Cities is receiving nearly $300,000 from the Basic Needs Giving Partnership.
Kathy Connolly of BRAIN Fox Valley says they found out how widespread the problems can be, after sitting down with domestic abuse victims and homeless people. She says about 87 percent have suffered head trauma at least once.
Connolly says some of them weren’t able to navigate the system well, and they wanted help finding the resources they needed.
She points to state figures that show about 12 percent of the overall population in Wisconsin has had at least one head injury.
