A Milwaukee man accused of throwing battery acid in the face of a Hispanic man is facing a hate crime.
Milwaukee County prosecutors are charging 61-year-old Clifton Blackwell with first-degree reckless injury. With the hate crime enhancer, Blackwell could face a longer sentence, if he’s convicted.
Blackwell is also accused of claiming the man was in the country illegally. The attack was captured on surveillance video, outside of a Mexican restaurant.
