The snow that hit during the rush hour this morning caused problems throughout northeast Wisconsin.
Calumet County Highway Commissioner Brian Glaeser says it was harder to deal with than the two earlier snowfalls, because the pavement temperature is cold and the snow wasn’t melting.
Police and sheriff’s departments reported a number of crashes. A driver hit a pole in Neenah, knocking out power to part of the west side. A car in a ditch along I-41, near the Northland Avenue exit in Grand Chute, caused significant backups.
In Fond du Lac, sheriff’s deputies say a driver was going too fast and slammed into a county squad car on I-41 South, by the Johnson Street exit.
