The Brown County District Attorney’s office is adding more support staff.
Because the state approved funding for three additional prosecutors next year, D.A. David Lasee has money for two more clerks and an investigator. He says right now, if they want to have an investigator at a follow-up interview, they need to coordinate that with a law enforcement agency.
Brown County currently has a backlog of about 3,000 low-level cases, and Lasee hopes to reduce that with his new staff.
