A store owner in the Fox Cities is facing religious discrimination, and a recent Facebook post is helping spread the word.
Tarina Swanson owns Sapphire Moon Chocolates in Grand Chute. She’s Muslim, and she says some customers have walked out after seeing her wearing a head covering.
Pastor Carol Weiss of Christ Lutheran Church in Oshkosh heard about it. She posted a picture of them together on Facebook. It’s been shared about 4,000 times, and Weiss says Swanson is seeing a boost in business. She believes it shows small acts of humanity can have a big impact.
Swanson is also an Army veteran.
The store is on Casaloma Drive, north of the Fox River Mall.
