Officers shot and killed a Green Bay man accused of abducting his ex-girlfriend in rural Kewaunee County.
The Kewaunee County Sheriff says Luis Cardona shot 40-year-old Babette Caraballo, before officers opened fire on Cardona. Caraballo was alive when she was taken to a hospital, and her condition isn’t being released.
Green Bay police say Cardona kidnapped Carabello at gunpoint, at Hansen’s Frozen Foods on Green Bay’s east side around 4:45 a.m. A ping on a cell phone led investigators to Kewaunee County.
Cardona was supposed to be in court today for a preliminary hearing, after prosecutors say he kidnapped Carabello last month. Police say held her for six hours. He was released on a $10,000 bond.
