When deer hunters get their buck or doe during the gun season, the DNR wants to make sure they don’t just dump the carcasses.
Biologist David Halfmann says leaving them along the side of a road or near public parking lots can spread chronic wasting disease. He’s crediting groups like ones in Oconto County that have special deer carcass dumpsters at different locations.
The nine-day gun deer season opens on Saturday.
